I was walking home from Fulham when I spotted this plaque.

More about the man himself:

He lived here at Fairlawn, at 89 Parkside, opposite Wimbledon Common, from 1853. It became his permanent home when he retired in 1894, and died here at the age of 87 in 1901.
From 1839 to 1854, he worked as a dental surgeon and lecturer on dental surgery at St Thomas' Hospital, and in 1840 co-founded an institution for the treatment of the teeth of the poor.
He became dentist to Queen Victoria, and other members of the royal family, a position he held for 40 years. He played an important part in the development of dentistry from the 1850s to the 1870s. He played a leading role in the founding of the British Dental Association in 1880, and three years later became the first dentist to be knighted.

You can find the plaque on the outside front wall near the gates.
