[En] This small, open post mill, high dice is undoubtedly one of the oldest and smallest mills of East Flanders. The construction year is situated probably in the first half of the 14th century. The year 1154, as is sometimes stated, is rather questionable. The wooden stand mill was part of the possessions of the Abbey of St. Bavo in Ghent and was already in 1388, following a repair listed. In 1566 were held by Protestants hage sermons on the mill pond. The mill has been protected since 1944, The miller's house, a typical small, low house, since 1982. In order to safeguard the remaining windage, the surrounding land is protected as landscape since 1977.
The Province of East Flanders bought these wooden post mill in 1999, part of the Scheldt and Lys Landinrichtingsproject (Inrichtingsplan Meilegem – Zingem).
