We were recently told about Devils Den by a man that was raised in the area, quite evident when we noticed roads and cemeteries in the area with his same last name. The sinkhole is located about 300 feet up a hill off Wolf Creek Rd. The sinkhole is not visible from the road, and the hillside is wooded making it hard to see until your right up on it. The hike up the hill was a bit tough, but not bad if your amazed by what nature can produce. It was actually a bit scary as you get close to the sinkhole, the sides funnel down at about 60 degree angle to a 12'x18' rock sided opening that drops out of sight. The man that told us of the spot claims that about 45 years ago he and 3-4 other people were lowered down the hole. He said the hole is about 125' to 150' deep with several passage ways leading off the main shaft. He said the only one large enough to enter was about 100' down and led into a large cave room.
