From the website:
Over the next several months the Encino Velodrome will be undergoing a drastic face lift. Clive Dawson of Dawson Architecture and also a very accomplished track, racer drew up plans for the renovation of the Encino Velodrome. The infield is being completely redone. It will have a warm-up circle in the turn 3-4 area and much of the infield will be concrete instead of the now dreaded dead grass. There will be a riders area that will be concrete. (no more picking the millions of burrs from your tarp or blanket for months after a race). Then in September (2002) track builder Peter Junek will be coming in to build up a board track on top of the existing concrete track. The track as it stands now is 250 meters with a 28 deg banking in the corners a bit of a downhill on the back side and a bit of an uphill on the finish straight!. When completed the board track will still be 250 meters but will have a 40 deg banking in the corners. The track will be UCI spec to 7 meters wide. It should be very smooth and very fast when completed.
