The bust of Sgt. 1st Class Pascal Cletus Poolaw stands along the Hall of Fame pathway at the National Hall of Fame for Famous American Indians . He served during World War II, Korea and Vietnam and received a total of 42 awards and medals, including four Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars, one Air Medal and three Purple Hearts. He is shown dressed in his Army uniform with his officer's cap. The plaque reads:

January 21, 1921 November 7, 1967
Most decorated Indian soldier in United States History
Who was Honored by Receiving Forty-Two Awards and
Medals from the U.S. Armed Forces, including Five
Bronze Stars, Four Silver Stars, Three Purple Hearts
And One Air Medal.

The Brave Combat Veteran of Three Wars – World War II
Korea and Vietnam was Killed in 1967, when, as a
SPO in Vietnam he was Trying to Rescue One of his
Wounded Men, under Fire.

He was born in 1922 and attended Riverside Indian School in Anadarko. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in World War II, and later Korea. He volunteered for duty in Vietnam and had just completed his 25th year of service when he was killed by a grenade on November 7, 1967. He is buried at the Fort Sill Post Cemetery.
