At the top, 1972 at 30+ feet above the pavement. Going back to 1937.
Located at the Hatton Ferry landing south of Scottsville. Pictures show the high water running off from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.
The website link below explains that the 1972 flood was due to Hurricane Agnes, which destroyed the ferry. The ferry was again destroyed in 1985. Since then, the local historical society has assumed operation of the ferry during weekends in the summer.
