There is so much to see and do in this town, especially with regards to the Civil War as well as some pretty amazing Victorian architecture. This attraction is nationally famous and is especially well known in York and Columbia County. It is one of five attractions touted in the towns What to See in Columbia link off of their main website.
I visited the museum on July 3, 2010 and was quite happy with the tour I took. It was very informative. The cost was 8 dollars but if i had clipped the coupon at the Around the Clock diner in York I would have only have paid $5.
From their website: The National Watch and Clock Museum was officially opened to the public in 1977 with fewer than 1,000 items. Since that time, the collection has increased to over 12,000 items and the museum has undergone several expansion projects. The latest expansion opened in October 1999 and featured an entirely new and redesigned exhibit space, as well as a new two-story addition. Today, the museum is recognized as the largest and most comprehensive horological collection in North America.
