Information on this anchor is given by a small plaque near it. Excerpts include the fact, the anchor weighs nearly 3000 pounds, it was snagged by a lake carrier in 1983, the anchor was attached to 200 feet of chain. It is unknown what ship it was originally attached to, but is typical of the type of anchor used from the early 1800's to the early 1900's.
