Since 1946 Walters Meats has been known for providing fine meat cuts, sausage and ham to Erie and the surrounding area. Using original recipes and minamal preseratives, Walters has produced consistant products for which it has become well known. Our products, made from USDA choice cuts are available at our deli counter along with our many varieties of hams, sausages and our famous "Smokies". We also do custom cuts to your special order.
Starting as a full service slaughterhouse, Walter Pieniazak founded Walter's Meats in 1946. Walter's supplied quality meat to most of the markets, schools, restaurants, and institutions in the Erie area. Before long they progressed into specializing in smoked meats, bologna & hotdogs. As times changed so did Walter's. A retail market was added to the building to offer fresh meat to the community. Walter's was purchased by Helmut Wagner in the 70's. Helmut is a member of the American Association of Meat Processors and is known around the world for his sausage recepies. Although Helmut has retired, his recepies are still being used today.
