The current Eagle Harbor Light Station's light continues to be a warning beacon to ships sailing in the area since the original lighthouse was constructed in 1851.

Above the door which faces the harbor is inscribed, 1871. The original lighthouse was erected in 1851. Twenty years later it was replaced with a 44 foot tall brick lighthouse that is still shining its light today.
