The dam of Arade is located in the district of Faro, Silves and is fed by water flow of the river Arade, whose length is 56 kilometers. The dam belongs to Arade basin.
The construction of the dam was completed in 1955 and entered into operation in 1956.
It´s walls reach the eight of 50mts (enbankment)and it´s mainly used for irrigation of the nearby fields.
