Le canal de Chambly est doté de neuf écluses de dimensions relativement modestes. Ces écluses ont été reconstruites vers la fin du XIXe siècle sans que leurs dimensions d'origine n'aient été modifiées. Puisque la plupart d'entre elles ont conservé les principales caractéristiques architecturales de cette époque et sont encore opérées manuellement, on peut les considérer comme des témoins marquants de la technologie des transports maritimes au XIXe siècle. Les écluses combinées nos 1, 2, 3 en sont de remarquables exemples.

The Chambly Canal has nine locks of relatively small size. These locks were rebuilt in the late nineteenth century without their original dimensions have been changed. Since most of them have retained the main architectural features of that time and are still operated manually, they can be considered as witnesses significant technology of maritime transport in the nineteenth century. Combined Locks 1, 2, 3 are outstanding examples.
