This building is part of a terrace of workman's cottages. This pair is dated 1887 but a couple of doors away the date is 1889. Brick shortage? Shortage of labour? Whatever, where houses are constructed in this manner it would be reasonable to have expected the whole terrace to have been built at the same time.
