The Jake Christiansen stadium at Concordia College was built in 1964 and named in honor of the coach whose Cobber football team won all but one season during his 28 years of coaching. The grandstand, which seats 7,000 spectators, was completed two years later. In addition to the football field, the complex includes two baseball diamonds, an 8-lane all-weather urethane track added in 1983, 6 tennis courts, and a new soccer facility. The athletic complex has recently upgraded its facility, replacing the natural grass with environmentally friendly Field Turf.
