First organized in Kings Valley as the First Baptist Church of Kings Valley on April 25,1869, the church has moved several times since then. In October, 1873 it moved to Alexander south of Independence, changing it's name to Antioch Baptist Church. Then to 3rd and B streets in Independence in 1888. The congregation built the present church at 1505 Monmouth St. completing it in 1975.
