This 14 foot tall 1856 sculpture by Henry Kirke Brown of George Washington depicts him on horseback, his right arm raised as in a greeting. He has a long sword on his left side. The horse's front left hoof is raised...but, despite the belief that raised hooves were symbolic of how the rider died, this Wikipedia article indicates that belief is inaccurate: (
