Legend has it that this was the location of the final resting place for many of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry's men during the winter of 1813-1814. Two boat landings along the trail offer scenic views of Big Pond and the lagoons.
Parking is available just across the road from the trailhead at the parking lot of Perry Monument.
