In English: " In the bicentennial of the beginning of independence, the people of Mexico render homage to one of its greatest leaders, the one that fell to Hidalgo Acaudillo the fight and offered his life for an independent Mexico. Internal glory to Morelos and the heroes that gave us the fatherland."
Jose Morelos was a Roman catholic priest and leader of the Mexican War of Independence. He was executed by the Spaniards for treason in 1815. The bust sits on a pedestal at the edge of Heritage Park. The bust is wearing a suit type outfit with a tie. His face looks weathered.
