The road is historic enough but add to it the allure of the Civil War and these fantastic roadside markers, well you just got plain magic! This marker is on the edge of the road and reads:

The marker is in Boonsboro, Maryland, in Washington County on South Main Street (Alternate U.S. 40) west of Rohresville Road (Maryland Route 67), on the right when traveling west. The marker was erected by the Maryland Historical Trust and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
