The Bermuda is a 145 foot wooden schooner that sank in the spring of 1870 when broke loose of its moorings and sank in the protected waters of Grand Island's Murray Bay. Lying upright in only 30 feet of water, her top deck is only 12' below the water's surface making for a very popular dive site for both beginners and advanced divers. Three hatches give access to the cargo hold, and there is also an underwater interpretive trail that shows divers important features of the shipwreck. Easily accessed from Munising, and marked with a white buoy, it is also a stop for the popular shipwreck cruise. Co-ordinates were taken at the dive site while aboard the shipwreck cruise boat.
