The original trailhead was at Monument 78, near the Canada-US border. An additional 7 miles was added by the provincial government to make it accessable from Highway 3. It can be accessed from numerous points in Washigton, Oregon, and California, but this is the northern terminus. There is parking for a number of vehicles right at the trailhead for those using this as a day hike. Those doing a long hike would want to make other arrangements for their vehicle.
