Fully operational in September 2000, at that time this 6.5 megawatt (MW) wind farm was the largest to be constructed in England since 1993, generating enough electricity each year for an average annual usage of around 4,000 homes, offsetting about 14,000 tonnes of the carbon dioxide every year.

The site has a life span of 20 to 25 years, after which the whole wind farm will be decommissioned by removing the turbines.
