"The 1909 Utah Legislature directed the State Fish and Game Commissioner to establish three hatcheries." "The Springville Hatchery was the first hatchery to be built and was in operation by November 20, 1909. In 1973 the Springville National Fish Hatchery on the west side of Main Street was transferred to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources."
