An impressive railway bridge leading into the small, central Thai city of Ratchaburi.

Ratchaburi is a small city, capital of the province of the same name, to the west of the sprawling metropolis of Bangkok. Leading into the city from the north are two bridges, one a dated stone, vehicular traffic bridge, and the second, immediately to the east, is this rail bridge. The track runs directly to the city rail station maybe a kilometre to the south.
The bridge looks to be sturdy and well built. I estimate ~150m in length. The date given on the bridge (in gallery) is 1901, with a second date (in the Thai script) of 2503 in the Buddhist Era, which translates to 1961 CE. This second date is presumably the date of a major renovation. The name of the bridge 'Chulalongkorn' is the name (the nickname in English) of the fifth king of the Chakri dynasty of Thailand. The fifth king, King Chulalongkorn, modernised his kingdom, a policy which included creating a rail system. Presumably, this bridge is named in his honour.
The bridge stretches across the Mea Klong River (which means, so I am told, small river). There is a pedestrian crossing on the bridge, from which the locals fish. The waymark was made at the southern, the city side, entrance to the bridge. Parking is available on either side of the bridge.
