The A.T. Crosses here on A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY! With heavy traffic and 60+speeds! To the east is town of Port Clinton,Pa. 19549 Has a train yard that you have to cross to get to A.T.,small hotels,food,post office,The peanut shop!(a must visit) On north end of town(1/2 mile from A.T.) there's a bath house,cooking pits,a pavillion for A.T. hikers to rest in!
1 Mile south is a Burger King,Wendys,Dunkin Donut,Cracker Barrel,Hotel,gas stations,Interstate 78 and "The Worlds Largest Outfitter"-Cabela's(Hamburg 19526)
Back on 61 East side to trail head, going NE straight up to 1,500 ft is Hawk Mountain Bird sanctuary!
Remember this part of the AT is called "Rocksylvania" And This Part is Loaded with "rattlesnakes" So don't stray to far of the trail!(east side/Hawk Mtn.)
