Almost everyone in Adelaide is familiar with Scotty's Motel. It's the site of the 'Big Scotsman' standing five metres tall on the corner of Nottage Terrace and Main North Road, Medindie.

The Big Scotsman, also known as Scotty, was erected in 1963 and thus predated the Big Banana by a year. Located on the corner of Scotty's Motel in the inner-city suburb of Medindie, the Big Scotsman was designed by Paul Kelly, who later went on to build the Big Lobster.
