The city hall building for Idaho Falls was constructed during 1929-30. The building was designed in the Beaux Arts style by Lionel E. Fisher of the Idaho Falls firm of Fisher and Aitken. The building’s exterior is unaltered and although the interior foyer with skylights has been remodeled into offices, the lobby retains its distinctive tiles and decorative detail. In addition to the city offices the building also houses a 4-bay firehouse. The building was placed on the National Register on Aug. 30, 1984.
