I had almost given up on this one, but expanded my search a bit from the info listed at ILLINOIS CABEESE (
visit link) (it is really 2 blocks east of 1st Avenue.) and finally found it.
The owner is Roy Strom Company. From their website:
"Since 1944, we have been providing quality:
Excavating and Grading services to the construction and development industry
Refuse, Recycling, and Landscape Waste services to commercial businesses, municipalities, and single and multi-family residences
Municipal Solid Waste Transfer / Disposal services to commercial waste haulers, public bodies, business and industrial users.

"Railroad Work
From the onset the construction and service work done for the railroad made up a large segment of the Roy Strom Company’s business. The company’s ability to produce, and meet project deadlines helped cement a solid working relationship with the Milwaukee Road, and to build a reputation respected in the railroad industry. The heritage is still evident today as the Strom Company’s unique logo, derived from the Milwaukee Road’s famous Hiawatha Line is still proudly displayed on all company equipment. To this day, Roy Strom Company still performs a large amount of work for major railroads in the Chicago area."
This probably explains how they got a Milwaukee Road caboose.
