Lonely Chimney in Peniche.
Peniche as been over the years conected with fishing and has been an important in the fish canning industry.
Lately this activity has decayed due to the competition of new producers like Marocco that can produce at a lower cost because of the lower price of their workers so in recent years a large quantity of these factories closed their doors. For some reason, the chimneys remain as a memory of the past.
This one stands high and proud in the middle of a new residencial neighbourhood remembering that this is a land of fishermans.
