The origins of Columbus First Church of the Nazarene go back to 1914 when the denomination was still young. It has maintained a vital outreach to the city of Columbus with creative ministries to reach out to the poor and to the immigrant populations that have come to the city. This includes outreaches to Spanish speaking people and to the Eritrean community in Columbus.
The current building was erected in 1963.
