The firehouse is a large building. In addition to a garage and an office area for the firemen, there is a large hall that is available for rent by the public for parties and gatherings.

The Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department was formed on February 19th, 1929, after a tragic fire had destroyed three homes near the center of town. In March a delegation of the newly formed Fire Department appeared before the town council that consisted of Frank Jones, Frank Hopkins, and William E Plotts asking for approval of the name "Lafayette Township Fire Department".
The website that was listed on the facebook page was not working when I tried it. I have included the address with the hope it will soon be repaired.
