Platte County celebrates 100 years in 2011. A mural is being painted at the fairgrounds by local amateurs to express their impression of important characteristics that made Platte County what it is. Thus, antelope, farms, bison, schools, the chili cook-off, a rodeo, etc. are pictured. The logo they selected has a stylized cowboy hat. The county commissioners issued a proclamation in Feb 2011 to celebrate this event all year long.
