The surveyor records the benchmark as a bolt on the north abutment of west face of church tower, 1.64 feet above surface. This benchmark is number 213 on the Selby to Newcastle-upon-Tyne levelling line. The benchmark was 73.439 feet above sea level (Liverpool Datum). It was surveyed during 1842-45.
