In 1893, the water from Slaterville Springs won an award at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago for its clarity and excellence, and Slaterville Springs water sold for the rough equivalent of $2.50 per gallon. Today the water is free for the taking. You can park in front of the Caroline Town Hall (the building was once a school).
