Seeing a need for an orphange with a more home like feeling, in 1922 the Women's Christian Temperance Union formed the Childrens Farm Home organization. The Georgian style building was constructed in 1926, with construction being completed in one year. The restoration currently going on started in 2005, with projects being done as finances were available. When completed, part of the upper level will be public access. There will be two gift shops, a museum, conference rooms available, and a cafe that will be open to the public two hours a day.
