Criminals are disappearing in this episode and Emma and Steed investigate. Their lucky break starts when Colonel Josino goes missing, along with a large amount of his country’s money. Steed discovers the start of the escape route the Colonel is to take and takes the Colonel's place. After many twists and turns in the back streets of London, Steed is taken by a hearse to Waldo Thyssen’s House. Thyssen has dreamt up a scheme to convince criminals that he can take them back in time to evade arrest, for a price. In reality Thyssen has created four rooms in his house, decorated in the styles of different periods. The criminals get a taster of what is on offer before coming back later for a more permanent escape.

Although blindfold, Steed can remember the bends the car has taken and some of the sounds he heard, as well as the time the journey took. He traces the route back to Thyssens house using this method. This is just as well as Emma has also taken the route to Thyssen’s house, but is taken prisoner there. Steed arrives in the nick of time to save Emma.
