An intelligence agent is being trailed by the opposition and decides to hide the despatch he’s carrying in the treasure box of a car rally that is being held by Sir George Benstead. The agent is killed but manages to send to Steed an invite to the car rally before he dies. Steed and Mrs Peel take part in the rally as do opposition agents. A large amount of skulduggery occurs on the rally before Steed and Emma finally secure the treasure.
One of the clues in the treasure hunt is chalked on the back of blacksmiths hammers in the blacksmith’s shop. The real location of the blacksmith's shop is Church Farm, Ridge. The clips for this waymark show one of the cars, containing enemy agents, approaching the blacksmiths via the junction of Summerswood Lane and Church Lane, and the enemy agents getting out of their car in the blacksmith’s yard
