REGINALD "REG" WHITE HARNESS SHOP
This building housed one of the oldest businesses of its kind in Salt Lake County, "The Reginald White Harness Shop". The business was started in Sandy in 1873 at another location by Albert White, "Reg's" father, but in 1916 Reginald White built the Harness and Saddle Shop at this location. Reg ran the shop until his death in 1962. Reginald White is also remembered as one of Sandy City's Fire Chiefs. The Reginald White Harness Shop is a brick and stucco structure. The Harness Shop has been joined by a pair of attached buildings united by their brick construction and glazing pattern. When open automobiles, called touring cars, were introduced in the 1920's they needed side curtains made, and that was also done at Reg White's Shop.
