Camp Hunt is one of five Trapper Trails Council Scout Camps focused on the Boy Scout program. It is uniquely situated on Bear Lake, allowing it to offer outstanding big lake waterfront merit badges and activities.
Camp Hunt is a magical place for Scouts to experience camp! Celebrating over 75 years of serving Boy Scouts, Camp Hunt has a strong tradition of excellence in providing a quality program to Scouts. Tucked among river birch, willow, and cottonwood trees, qualified staff teach over 40 merit badges. More importantly, our staff seeks to encourage and implement ALL of the methods of Scouting.
In mid June 2004, USA Today, a nationally recognized newspaper, listed the top 10 places in the united States to pitch a pup tent. Bear Lake was listed number 2 in the nation! Bear Lake is a great place to camp.
Since 1936, Camp Hunt has offered scouts a quality program. Located on the west shore of Bear Lake, Camp Hunt offers a unique “Big Lake” experience. Boys are able to capture the thrill of a good Breeze
aboard a sailboat or getting up on water skies for the first time.
The objective of the staff at Camp Hunt is to provide Scouts with an opportunity to see the vision of Scouting come alive. Well-rounded activities are provided to enhance a patrol’s year-round program through living, breathing, and doing Scouting as a Scout patrol under its own leadership. Well-trained staff instructors, camp commissioners and other staff are available to aid in planning, preparing and carrying out an active program.
The camp guidelines are the ideals and aims of Scouting. Camp Hunt offers a quality experience in Nature, Handicraft, Waterfront and Field Sports. It also offers campfires, Flag ceremonies and quality activities designed to facilitate scout units and scouts in character development, citizenship, and personal fitness.
