This Bicentennial marker is attached to the brick base of a community bell on the grounds of the Woodruff Town Hall. The brickwork base is about two feet high, with a pitched roof protecting the bell.
On the top of the marker are the symbols for the Utah American Revolution Bicentennial 1776-1976 and the American Revolution Bicentennial 1776-1976. The marker states:
Our Old Community Bell - Woodruff
Dedicated to the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the United States of America
and sponsored by the
Utah American Revolution Bicentennial Commission
and Woodruff Bicentennial Committee
This bell was once atop the first permanent schoolhouse in Woodruff. It was used to announce school, church, meetings, funerals, and 4th of July celebrations. Committee under leadership of Mayor Clyde Longhurst and Annie S. Wamsley.
A supplemental strip has been added to the plaque stating:
