The Midlothian City Cemetery is a wonderful place to visit. As you stroll among the history you find here the peacefulness just envelopes you and the stress of daily life just melts away. You will find lots to see here, but remember the cemetery closes at dark.

Among the headstones you can seek out several WOW, some homemade headstones and even a couple of geocaches. Have fun and please be respectful of all who rest here.

In the older part of the Midlothian City Cemetery along the left side you will find two rather crude concrete blocks with the names C.S Shaw and Pheby Shaw etched into them. They are well worn with time and weather, but can still be read.

C.S Shaw born June 12, 1861 died Dec. 5, 1911.

Pheby Shaw born 1860 died 1941.

The two stones sit side by side. There are several other Shaw's buried in the Midlothian City Cemetery, but these are the only two homemade stones.
