The on this site plaque is located under the middle right pillar at the front entrance. The pillar stands on concrete blocks and the plaque is attached to the plaque directly under the white column. The plaque has an interesting shape. The upper right of this almost rectangular marker is bubbled out and has two busts of the Eisenhowers. The future President of the U.S., General of the Army, and Supreme Commander in Europe in WW II lived in this house with his wife Mamie and infant son Icky in the spring and summer of 1918. An Army captain, he was then commanding Camp Colt at Gettysburg.

The marker reads:

Here in the spring of 1918, Mamie Doud Eisenhower made a first Gettysburg home for Captain Dwight Eisenhower U.S. Army, Post Commander of Camp Colt and their infant son, Doud Dwight Eisenhower

There is also a plaque to the right of the front door attached to the brick. That sign reads:

Eisenhower Home - 1918
Ike, Mamie, and Icky lived here during May through September, 1918.
"It was our first family home."

The historic home is located at T157 North Washington Street and is home to the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College. It is directly across the street from the center quad where Pennsylvania Hall is located.
