On the grounds of the West Springfield Common opposite the Senior Center is a bandstand donated by the West Springfield Lions Club. On the foundation on the west side of the structure there is a plaque, partially obscured by rose bushes, explaining the dedication.
The Plaque is inscribed:

The bandstand is used during community activities on The Common, including craft fairs, the annual Taste of West Springfield, and holiday celebrations.
Lions are a service organization that raise funds for worthwhile causes and the betterment of the community. The West Springfield Lions Club's major fund-raiser is a food concession at the Eastern States Expositions. Funds from this activity were used to construct the bandstand.
