St. John’s Lutheran Church dates back to 1865. The congregation moved to present location in 1892, and the present building was built in 1935. As additions were constructed to fit the growing congregation, the larger building dwarfed the original steeple, so they replaced it with the present one, a more contemporary design in 1951.
