One of a number of green plaques placed around Towcester for its Millennium Project. This one marks the place where a section of the Roman Town Wall was found.

Unusually powerful wall defences were built in about AD170. In 1999 the foundations of this Roman Town Wall were exposed during the re-laying of the surface of Meeting Lane which leads from Richmond Road to Watling Street.

The plaque is on the gable end of No.6 Richmond Road
