Cherry Springs State Park - Coudersport, Pennsylvania
This park, was established as a Scenic Drive and Class B Campground until 1993 when it was named a "State Park". In 2000, the administrative features were taken over by Hills Creek State Park, which oversees operations of eight state parks in Potter and Tioga Counties. In that same year, Cherry Springs was named a "Dark Sky Park" due to its isolation. In 2004-05 related facilities (Modern Restrooms, Astronomy Domes and electrical outlets) were added to the park on the west side of State Route 44. In 2008, the state acquired the former Cherry Springs Airport and made an amphitheater for public programs.
