The monument in Spaarbankbos Hoogeveen is a rusty metal sculpture group of five human figures. Three of them have a cross on the location of the heart, two a Star of David. Opposite the sculpture is also a rusty metal plaque placed.
The text on the plate reads:

The three crosses and two Stars of David, located at the position of the heart, the shots that symbolize resistance to the three victims and two Jewish victims were killed.
The resistance KP De Krim in 1943, committed a robbery at the town of Nieuw Schoonebeek, in order to get hold of ration cards. The action was, however, by carelessness of the opposition out of hand. There was a firefight in which three members of the town were killed. One was a resistance fighter from Schoonebeek. As a reprisal for the resistance action, even if that failed, betrayed an NSB Hoogeveense a number of people. Among them were solicitor John Mulder, Squire Marius de Jonge and the teacher Adrian Baas. They are on August 1, 1943 in Spaarbankbos shot by the occupying forces. Two days later, the Jewish cousins ??Levie and Manus van der Wijk on this site have been killed.
The monument is located at the High Bank in the eastern part of the Spaarbankbos in Hoogeveen.
Het monument in het Spaarbankbos te Hoogeveen is een roestbruine metalen beeldengroep van vijf mensenfiguren. Drie van hen hebben een kruis op de plaats van het hart, twee een davidster. Tegenover de beeldengroep is een tevens roestbruine metalen plaquette geplaatst.

De drie kruizen en de twee davidsterren, aangebracht op de plaats van het hart, staan symbool voor de schoten die de drie verzetsslachtoffers en de twee joodse slachtoffers het leven hebben gekost.
De verzetsgroep KP-de Krim pleegde in 1943 een overval op het gemeentehuis van Nieuw-Schoonebeek, met het doel distributiebonnen in handen te krijgen. De actie liep echter door slordigheden van het verzet uit de hand. Er ontstond een vuurgevecht, waarbij drie personeelsleden van het gemeentehuis om het leven kwamen. Een van hen was een verzetsman uit Schoonebeek. Als represaille op de verzetsactie, ook al was deze mislukt, verraadde een Hoogeveense NSB’er een aantal personen. Onder hen waren notaris Johannes Mulder, jonkheer Marius de Jonge en de onderwijzer Adriaan Baas. Zij zijn op 1 augustus 1943 in het Spaarbankbos door de bezetter gefusilleerd. Twee dagen later werden ook de joodse neven Levie en Manus van der Wijk op deze plaats om het leven gebracht.
Het monument bevindt zich bij de Hoge Bank in het oostelijke deel van het Spaarbankbos in Hoogeveen.
