Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan is the premier wat of the Thai province of Nakhon Si Thammarat ("Nakhon Si"). The Wat contains a number of sacred Buddhist objects, and is of an impressive design, worth a visit in itself. In the temple grounds, not too far from the chedi (repository of the remains of the Buddha), is this bell. Approximately half a metre high, it is housed inside a small enclosure, and there for worshipers to ring (though a small donation is the done thing to do, prior to ringing).
