United States Post Office-Waynesville

Waynesville, MO 65583

Waynesville is located in Pulaski County, Missouri, United States, in the heart of the rolling hills of the Missouri Ozarks. The population in the 2000 census was 3,507 and did not appear to have grown much from that date, until my visit in 2011. Waynesville is the county seat of Pulaski County and the Old Pulaski Courthouse (built 1903, and now a museum) is located just across the street from the Post Office. Waynesville is located along the historic old Route 66 Hwy. The city has about 6.2 square miles within its borders. A major attractions in town is the Old Stagecoach Stop, which is currently a museum but started as a tavern and boarding house, and is the oldest standing structure in the county. The Stagecoach Stop was also used as a Civil War hospital for Union troops who from the old Fort that used to be located in Waynesville but was demolished after the war.

Visit Instructions:
To post a log to an existing U.S. Post Office waymark, you will need to post a picture of the front of the building, with the name of the post office in the background if that is possible.

A description of your Post Office is required, such as when it was built, history, outstanding or unique features, population of the city or town, just do a quick internet search and find an interesting bit of information about the city or town and add it to the long description, to make it more interesting. Even just adding in the population of the area can give others an idea of how many people this post office serves. This description should be at least three sentences.

If your Post Office has any unusual or unique features that you feel others would enjoy viewing, additional pictures are always welcome.
Including your gps device in the picture is not necessary, but wouldn't be cause for disapproval, as long as all other details of your log are acceptable.
