As Zippy emerged from the Luray Zoo through the jaws of an alligator, Griff had a sense of danger, but Zippy sensed shoes.

The Luray ZooClick for link to open in new window located on Rt. 211 in Luray, Virginia, is a rescue zoo with over 250 animals, reptiles, and birds. Unwanted pets, retired zoo animals, confiscated animals, and even Zippy are welcome here. Many of the animals have been injured and rescued from the wild. Luray Zoo and its knowledgeable owners have been lauded for providing an excellent home and care. So, in spite of Zippy's wish for alligator-skin shoes, he won't find them in the jungle gift shop.
